CORN FIELDS

I got lost in a beautiful maze of corn tonight. It served as the perfect way to unwind after a semi stressful (half) week of deadlines.

If you've never explored A Maze in Corn, I highly suggest you do so.

It is so much more than a corn field.

Clydesdale horses clip-clop around, pulling happy hay riders. They have concession stands, restrooms, and a haunted forest. There are bonfires available for rent- they even provide the propane and firewood! You can cuddle lambs, kittens, piglets, goats and even snuggle with a calf named Doug.

Hallowe'en is only a few weeks away and A Maze in Corn has a cozy pumpkin patch. I'll be going back within the next week - I missed out on the hay ride today and I also need to snag my Jack-0-Lantern!

Cheers!

Another suggestion for fun-in-nature for Halloween is the Haunted Barn at Six Pines.

The barn itself is actually very scary - last time I went, I had to shut my eyes and grip my friend Andrew's coat the entire time.

But the other attractions; The train of TERROR, and the Comedy Show, are good old fashioned fun.

Check it out if you get a chance!

  2. Monique, these pictures are beautiful! And I can highly recommend A Maze in Corn - my 5 year-old went nuts there (in a good way!) and is asking to go back.

  3. I was at A Maze In Corn just the other week. Such a cool little place. The petting zoo was by far my favourite part. It was unfortunate though because no one seemed to appreciate two 20-something year olds hogging all of the piglets and kittens to themselves while there was a line up of kids behind us.

When they're 21, they'll understand that the beauty of these little creatures is still just as fascinating as when they were 5 years old.

  5. I loved A Maze In Corn when I was a kid. I always liked the little scavenger hunt they had there, it made me feel like I was on some sort of quest. Only I could save the land by the dark lord Sauron by collecting several broken pieces of farming equipment!

Amazing photos by the way. What camera do you use?
